Hey, that’s me — Latasha James, founder of J+P.

I didn’t mean to rhyme there, but I guess I do that sometimes. My writing career started when my first poem was published in 7th grade, and in my free time I study songwriting and music production at Interlochen Center for the Arts.

My love for art and song ties into what I do every day. Video is rhythmic, and emails can be poetry. Messaging carries emotion, and humans need to feel it to know, like, and trust brands today.

I’m bullish about creating content people connect with and sharing stories that have the power to motivate, educate, and inspire. We give algorithms too much power.

  • I fell in love with Ann Arbor when I first moved here from Kalamazoo over a decade ago. Since then, I’ve spent significant time in Washington DC, Detroit, and Tampa FL, but always felt like A2 was home. Let’s bring a little more fun and creativity to this place together :)

  • Yes! If you live in a warm weather climate, I’ll probably say yes faster. Just kidding. Okay, not really kidding.

  • I’m a strange blend of chronically online and classically trained. I’ve studied film since I was 13, which is right around the time I signed up for my first MySpace account, too. My passions have grown together and I believe in balancing the beauty of art with the needs of business.
